Mixer Details

This is just one of over 75 professional audio mixers covered in The Mixer Output Guide, which describes direct outs, inserts, hidden mods and more. To see the rest, and for definitions, visit The Guide.

Direct Out:
1/4" TRS (impedance balanced, 0dBu)
1/4" TS/RR, post-HPF, pre-EQ, 0dBu
Gain Control of Direct Output:

Direct Out has internal option jumpers for each channel. The factory default setting is pre-fade (following the pre/post-EQ setting). This may be changed to post-fade via internal jumpers for each channel (see the manual, pages 37-38).

The "Pre-EQ" switch (found between aux sends 2 and 3) affects the Direct Output: "The up position is post-EQ, pressed is pre-insert and pre-EQ. Note that this setting affects all pre-fade sends from the channel, including auxes and direct output." (p. 38). And, on page 32, it states in regards to the direct output, "Use the channel recessed PRE-EQ switches to select either post-EQ or pre-insert, pre-EQ for your recording."

Four matrix outputs (1/4"), which can be fed by any of the 8 groups, the l-r bus or an external in jack (1/4").

If you were to plug signal into the matrix ext input 1 and 2, then "with nothing plugged into EXT IN 3 and 4 the [ext input 1-2] signals are automatically linked across making the same [signal] available to..." all four matrixes.

The group (aux) and LRM mix inserts are pre-fader and operate at -2dBu.

In "Monitor Mode" (when a REV mode switch next to the aux masters is depressed) the aux and group outputs are swapped, see the manual. For example, the aux outs: "In monitor mode, these outputs reverse with the group and LR XLR connections" (page 15).
